Transitions

This morning I’m getting ready to go into the office for the last time at the Bush School at Texas A&M, my work family for the last seven years. My twins finish elementary school. My youngest is enjoying the last school year he’ll have outside of the education system for quite some time. Our oldest wraps up fifth grade, and all four will be at new schools next year. Paula just wrapped up her college career, and is helping wrap up the school year at the elementary school she fell in love with during her student teaching phase. All of this happens today. In all of this we have been, and are, truly blessed. We don’t look back in a longing way, but to be thankful. There is too much that lies ahead, even beyond the shadows, that calls us to deeper joy, and service, and thankfulness.
